Turnstile fare evasion detection based on AI and sophisticated 3D video analytics in real time
About Jarbtech Solution Group
Jarbtech Solution Group AS is an innovative high-tech company, specialized in advanced software development fighting fare-evasion and protecting metro revenues.
Our vision is to be a driving force behind innovative solutions for revenue protection within public transport, supporting a world of Fair Play and social consciousness in public transport.
Reduce fare evasion and increase revenue.
As metro companies around the world are loosing hundreds of millions of US$ as a direct consequence of fare-evasion, Jarbtech is addressing and solving this problem offering iFairPalyer, an anti fare-evasion system detecting and alarming when fare dodgers are passing through turnstiles.
More efficient guards - they will only pursue fare evaders.
The system will detect non paying travellers in real time sending an immediate proof to nearby guards. In addition a statistical overview is created of where and when the fare evasion problem is more prominent, enabling very focused deployment of guards at the right place and at the right time.
Create a feeling of justice for the paying travellers.
The system has a strong and demonstrable preventive effect as travellers experience that fare dodgers are caught and paying travellers are vindicated sending a message of safety and fairness.
We are continuously looking for new ways to optimize for fraud. Any product that complies with the requirements we impose on professionalism, technical integration possibilities, etc., are of high interest.

intelligent Fair Player
iFairPlayer monitors and measures passenger flow through turnstiles and detects fare evasion incidents using AI and advanced machine learning.
Each incident is sent to nearby guards as a short video sequence used for recognition and evidence.
iFairPlayer is a stand alone system and requires no integration with other systems or equipment at the installed station.
1. Detects ticket fare evaders
The Sensor detects fare evasion incidents at the turnstile.
2. Sends notification and info to guards
A video of the incident is sent imediately to nearby guards.
3. Evader is caught and fined
The guard verifies the incident and approach the fare evader.
Components and use
Fare Evasion Sensor
The iFairPlayer Fare Evasion sensor will be installed directly over the gates. The sensor includes a camera and can detect unwanted behaviours like tailgating and jumping and can also count all passengers enabling measuring of passenger flow on each station. Each fare evasion incident will be sent to a control system for further processing of statistics and notification to guards.
The mobile application is user friendly and is built for fast retrieval of nearby incidents. The app let guards handle multiple incidents and makes it easy to locate and recognize suspects. Built-in functions for checking out fare evaders and register when a fine is issued allows efficient bookkeeping and monitoring.
Each installed location can be controlled and configured through a central management system. The management system shows operational status on each location and also provides overview and statistics of fare evasion. This provides management with a near real-time view of the situation, and can be used to tune and optimize resource allocation.
Optimal use of iFairPlayer
iFairPlayer is a decision support tool. The system efficacy depends on actions implemented on each location. Such actions typically include guards, iFairPlayer signs and iFairPlayer alarm on the turnstile (optional).
The system will provide a statistical overview of where and when the fare evasion problem is more prominent, enabling very focused deployment of guards at the right place and at the right time. Targeting the main problems, will over time build up a strong preventive effect.
Current staffing is sufficient.
Routines for occasional use of the mobile device will be implemented, using the current staffing. After the system is introduced, no extra staffing is necessary.
As metro companies around the world are loosing hundreds of millions of US$ as a direct consequence of fare-evasion, Jarbtech is addressing and solving this problem offering iFairPlayer, an anti fare-evasion system detecting and alarming when fare dodgers are passing through turnstiles.
In addition to actual installation cost, a monthly license fee is charged per installed system. The monthly fee includes service and software upgrades. Our goal is to substantially reduce fare evasion, increasing both reputation and revenue for our customers!
